APC Chieftain Clarifies his Statement that Sylva's Intervention Saved Bayelsa from One Party Rule

Chief Izzi Yakiah, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bayelsa State, has praised former Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Chief Timipre Sylva, for his pivotal role in preventing the state from succumbing to one-party dominance. Speaking in Abuja, Yakiah, who also coordinates the Niger Delta Media Activists Group and the Excellent Leadership Foundation, highlighted Sylva’s unwavering commitment to the APC despite significant political challenges.

Yakiah noted that while some politicians in Bayelsa compromised party principles for personal benefit, Sylva remained steadfast in upholding the party's vision and ensuring its presence in the state. He described Sylva as a beacon of modern democracy in Bayelsa, crediting him with maintaining political plurality since 2013. According to Yakiah, Sylva’s leadership and conviction in the APC's ideals and President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda have kept the party resilient against internal betrayals.

The APC chieftain urged party members to demonstrate loyalty and unity under Tinubu’s administration. He also expressed appreciation for the efforts of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited in empowering Bayelsans and commended APC State Chairman Barrister Demiss Otiotio’s dedication to party growth. Yakiah’s remarks reaffirm the enduring impact of Sylva’s leadership on Bayelsa’s political landscape.
